A sentence grammar question
Hello! I found in my exercises in "Invite 2" a sentence like 上个星期五我没有出去 and it mans "I didn't go out last friday". Why is there 没有 and not 不, if 没有means "don't have"?
This is the common way to negate in the past tense.
(不 doesn't imply that it happened in the past)
You can also leave out 有. 没 is the short form of 没有.
To my knowledge 没 is used to negate sentences in the past tense instead of 不.
