"I am going to move to Germany next year" sounds more natural. Depends on context I guess

This is to show the direction of the movement. 去 shows that moving to Germany is moving AWAY from here. 去 and 来 are often used to show the direction of movement. This is the same sort of usage as we saw is earlier lessons with 走下来, 跑上去, etc.
