IOS app bug? Merged clubs
The following is an issue with clubs from multiple languages appearing to merge. I have seen this happen on multiple occasions (more than five, possibly ten). I’m on an IOS platform.
I am actively learning three languages in Duolingo, and am a member of clubs in all three.
There are times I enter my Spanish club, for example, and comments from other club members that HAD been there are no longer visible. Avatars are still there, but they have become silhouettes rather than that user’s actual avatar image. The comment count in the lower left-hand corner of the thread indicates a larger number of comments than are visible.
If I check the leaderboard, I’ll find - instead of Spanish club members - the members of my German club.
I have posted comments on a club activity in German club IN German, and it didn’t credit me with xp for using that language. Later I’ll find my comment was posted to Czech club.
When these incidents have happened, if I back out of club to the skill tree, I am in the language I intended to be in. So I know it’s not a user error.
The only way I’ve found to knock sense into Duo club is to quit out of the app (quick double tap on home key, then swipe up on Duo thumbnail) and the open the closed app.
I haven’t seen anyone else post about this issue, but I can’t believe it’s isolated to me.
This can happen when Duolingo starts synchronizing your courses with its servers, if ......
- you are logged in two different devices in different courses
- you're logged in with two different tabs in different courses
- you are logged in on your phone both in the App and in the web version of Duolingo in different courses.
This is possible in any webpage of www.duolingo.com or App
