Is this an idiom?

Is there idiom in Italian that would be equivalent to the English idioms: "They've made their bed, now they will have to lie in it"? How about "You can't have your cake and eat it too"? Anyone out there who is completely bilingual who can answer? Mille Grazie :)

No, This sentence is not an Italian idiom. (I study with a native Italian tutor.)

Why do the Italians use redundant language?

Why does any language? As an English speaker, you can't seriously be asking that.
