Messed up with Subjuctive

I found two sentences....

  1. Il semble que le malade AILLE bien.

  2. Il me semble que le malade VA bien.

May I know why is the present cojugation of aller is used in the second sentence? Is it because there is a pronoun?(me) Please explain ! I am going to have my A/L French paper on 16th. :-(.

Les deux phrases sont correctes.

Avec la locution "il semble que " ou "il me semble que" on mettra :

1/ le subjonctif, si on exprime une incertitude (il me semble que notre président ait encore fait les mauvais choix).

2/ l'indicatif, si on constate une réalité (Il me semble que le jour se lève), ou pour exprimer un avis (il me semble que tu es doué pour les langues).

L'usage dépend donc en grande partie des intentions du locuteur. Réalité ou incertitude ?

The two conjugations above are correct. The difference is that 'il semble que' is impersonal, so you use the subjonctif, 'il me semble que' is personal so it doesn't require the subjonctif. The subjonctif is very difficult to use many native French speakers can make mistakes. Example; You would say ' Je pense que le malade va bien' because it is personal. It is what you think and thus a concrete idea.

The others are correct but I would add that "se sembler que" in the negative or interrogative requires subjunctive. Here is more:

Thanks a lot ! I went through that site also. Now I have a better idea of using subjunctive with "se sembler". Here is a lingot for you :-)
