I guess I haven't introduced myself yet, so, saluton!
I've been doing duolingo for a long time, first on my mom's account, and then early this year, my own. I just restarted my progress (regardless of what the languages by my name say) and am switching my main focus to Esperanto. My goal is to be fluent, or at least mostly fluent, by December next year. I have a passion for languages and love to learn them, my favorite color is green, and am currently in middle school. I'm really glad I discovered the wonderful community here.
Saluton! Mi esperas ke vi atingos vian celon!
Hello! I hope you reach your goal!
Why December? Some people object when people mention their age, but I think it's important for young people to know that other people their age are learning the same language. It meant a lot for my daughter to find other Esperanto speakers her age. My son Logano is in middle school and speaks Esperanto fairly well.
Have your mom say hello some time.
I was originally going to have it earlier in the year, but then I started over because I had taken a long break and completely forgotten everything. I want to have a goal that's reachable, and I don't think that I'll be able to become fluent by sometime earlier in the year. Possible, but very unlikely. And thanks, I'll tell her. :)
I loved how it was created with the vision of it being a universal language that brought people together. It seemed like a language of hope and peace. Also, I had heard that being bilingual helped you become fluent in other languages, and this one sounded the easiest and quickest to learn.
saluton!! it's awesome to see more people closer to my age learning esperanto, haha. i've been really slacking on my studies lately, but i hope you don't fall into the same situation lol. esperanto is great!!
