I think it's perfectly correct as well, when it's lo/la you can contract it to l' before any form of avere, while li/le you always keep uncontracted

Would "I would not have done it at your place" be the same or is the sentence construction "Al tuo posto..."always going to mean "In your place..." At the moment Duolingo is marking this as incorrect and I am not sure why.

Treat "al tuo posto" like "in your shoes". The phrase is a bit idiomatic, this isn't about having parties at a certain person's house :)

"I wouldn't have done it in your place" sounds much more natural than the version DL insists on. Nonsense.
