Quick note on the words ons and ounce. Satu ons in indonesia is actually 100g whereas an ounce is 28ish gram so while the word may derive from the Dutch word ons meaning ounce the weight has changed in modern Indo.

Also garam is salt ;)

Yes, I agree.
This needs to be fixed.

"Kami punya sepuluh ons garam."
Translation:We have ten ounces of sugar.

'garam' = 'salt'

'ons' = seratus gram = 100 grams.

'ounce' = 28.3 grams.

'garam is currently translated as 'sugar'.
'ons' is currently translated as 'ounce'.

There should be added to the options available to us : one kilogram . (sepuluh ons = one kilogram) that should take care of the ounces/ons discrepancy.

Actually, in Dutch an ons us also 100 grams

DuoLingo please add the choices “one” and “kilogram” to the options available to choose from so we can translate “kami punya sepuluh ons garam “ with “we have one kilogram of salt “. It really hurts to have to translate “ons” with “ounces”. It is somewhat similar to if you would force us to translate “rupiah” with “dollar” .

Oz is an accepted shortening of ounce in English, so Duolingo please put this into the answers allowed
