As a Persian native speaker I naturally feel no need to take a Persian course, but I was just wondering that it would be great if Duolingo had one! I mean, Persian is one of the most beautiful languages in the whole world, with the most beautiful poems and legends. It's also spoken by more than 110 million people and I believe many of language learners here want this course to be added.
It's been requested many times and I think the broader Duolingo userbase would support a Persian course for certain. Persian is such beautiful language. I would be thrilled if it was added.
Hi there. once i brought it up and got nothing. also mentioned the issue here with other users but they inveigh against me. i got huffy and removed the post. FYI Persian is Farsi there is no difference.
Yeah, Farsi is a great language and I'm pretty sure that It would be awesome to learn it. I recommend you to learn it. And It would be great if There is a Persian course in Duolingo
Persian needs to be on Duolingo; by number of native speakers (around 50 million), it is one to the more commonly spoken languages of the world
The number is even bigger than that 80 million in Iran about 30 million in Afghanistan and about 10 million in Tajikistan
I am also a native Persian, I m interested to learn other languages from Farsi. Now We have to learn every language from English.
I totally agree. I have heard quite about languages like Persian/Farsi and Urdu and how beautiful and deep their literature and language is. I would like both these languages to be added to Duo too. Have you applied to the Incubator? But since the script 'seems' similar to Arabic, and Arabic has not yet been released because of issues with script inclusion on the Duo platform, I think these two languages will take quite some time. We will have to see how Arabic fares with the script and sound and how long it takes for the course to be stable, which I hope is soon.
Also, adding a language of that region will make Duo accessible to a totally different region of the world, making Duo more popular.
Another vote for adding Persian (aka Farsi)! I want to learn it. I think Persian native speakers have beautiful accent when they speak English.
I would love a Farsi course - not just for me, but also for my daughter, who wants to connect with her roots and talk with her grandparents in their native language. I tried and struggled to learn it when I was first married (this was in the pre-app days). There were few to no resources then and, honestly, there aren't much more now. Duolingo could really help fill a void, and it would make me so happy to see.
Hello to all interested people to Persian language. We are a Persian language learning startup team who are trying to gather some free stuff for people who are interested in learning this language. Therefore, it would be highly appreciated if you could visit our website at https://learnpersian.us and let us know about your ideas and suggestions.
Did I typed it right?سلام As long as I know Persian poems and legend aren't so easy. Then if lingo is to add it, don't expect that.
Your idea is great but it depends if a native speaker creates the course. You can do it but I don't know if you want to.
I have applied several times before, Duo says we would let you know if there is an opening, waiting for more than one year though.
