שלום

I have here the vocabulary for the Duolingo course. I've gone to great lengths to ensure the accuracy of the information therein, having consulted many sources to check and cross reference. If there is an error, please let me know and I'll amend the document immediately. There are, however, several skills which are missing as I have not been able to attain those words. When I do reach those skills I'll note the words and update this document. Unless of course another member can assist me before then.

Having read numerous members expressing frustration at the steep learning curve of the course and the lack of transliteration etc, I hope this alleviates the burden of progressing through the course. I certainly hope that it prevents these members from giving up on Hebrew. I've tried to include as much information as possible to make the acquisition and memorization of vocabulary as easy as possible. If you have any suggestions to improve the document I'll be very interested to hear from you. Thanks to everyone here who were patient and helpful in dealing with my queries.

בברכה ובהצלחה

I do something similar. My sister and I will recite them and try to make sentences with the new vocabulary we learn; Try to communicate as much as possible.

This is wonderful - I am so grateful! I'm just wondering about the significance of the Hebrew words' colours? Is that related to the Duolingo levels?

Hi, thank you :)

The colours distinguish between gender for the nouns: blue being masculine, pink feminine. Gold are adjectives, red are adverbs, green verbs, etc. It was my goal to have colours reinforce the genders of each word and add a bit of structure to the vocabulary.

Awesome! I've wanted something like this from the beginning! However, I do see one error on the first page... אַתָה should be masculine and אַת should be feminine.

This is exactly what I wanted. I've completed a few lessons on Duolingo but I really wanted to have a list of the words in order to mark the ones I've mastered and work on the ones I don't remember. You saved me so much time from doing this myself. Thank you so much.

Just a small correction: In the section “Arts,” about halfway down, the transliteration for “Producer” (מֵפִיק) is incorrect. It should be “mefik” not mekid. But hopefully readers would know that from the Hebrew spelling given (מפיק). Thanks again for compiling this PDF!

This is SO helpful. I was handwriting them but was frustrated with the lack of transliteration. I hate to rely on that, but wanted it sometimes to make sure I am pronouncing it somewhat correctly. Thank you!

Thankyou, I'm glad it's of use. I found that vocabulary acquisition is much more laborious than any other language I looked at. The omission of vowels really is a hindrance, particularly when learning grammar. So, in that regard, I hope this helps those who use it get a feel for the way the language works as well as building fluency in pronunciation and reading. I've actually just finished declining all of the adjective for the course and will be uploading that soon. This will be without transliteration, but rather, vowels; it really does help one get a feel for how the declination of adjectives behaves. I was thinking of making another version of the document here without transliteration, but with vowels. I'm not sure which everyone would find most useful, I was actually loath to the idea of including vowels originally, so as to get used Hebrew as it is in everyday life for a native speaker.

i think in the beginning the vowels are essential. but as time goes on and we memorize the words so to speak we don't need them anymore. transliterations are always helpful

Hi, thanks for your great work. I've created a Flashcard deck on Anki with your list, were you always see the English word first and then have to type in the correct meaning in Hebrew. Here is the link for anyone interested: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/2145345815 .

Shalom, I think I see something that needs correction. In the Plurals section, your transliteration of the word plate is tzalachat, which would be the singular transliteration. It should be tzlachot. :) Thank you so much for the list it's wonderful!

https://www.duolingo.com/Gazellie

Shalom, I see another typo in the transliterations. The word curtain should be: vilon and you have yilon.

Shalom,

In the weather section the transliteration for storm should be sufah, you have s'arah.
