will there ever be an icelandic course?
i know icelandic is quite a difficult language to get down, but iceland is a beautiful country and it's a language i would like to try and learn. does anyone else want icelandic on duolingo?
I would like Icelandic, especially since I already know Swedish. I think a lot of users want Icelandic, you can find threads about it here. Unfortunately, they have no effect on Duolingo. A lot of people wish also for Latin, Finnish, Persian and other languages. I believe that all those languages will be eventually added but it may take years.
yeah. i appreciate everything that duolingo does, teaching languages for free. it just kinda sucks that it takes a long time for new courses to be added
Maybe you don't need to wait when it comes. Just go on another site, if you have the goal.
Get some tips from Daniel Tammet. He was fluent enough in one week living in Iceland to be interviewed in Icelandic national TV to prove he learned it.
Become a savant =) But some people say he is not. I don't understand how he represents numbers as objects with the definite form.
Yes. I know. I saw some. But I didn't find a pattern for this
I understood about the colors but not for the shapes. It would be great if it was 3D.
Duolingo staff are not robots, however they are working hard on the other languages, and i hope they can finish the goal they want to achieve.
Duo staff wouldn't do it. They don't do Romanian and that's a standard language in two countries (Romania and Moldova) each with 10 times the population of Iceland.
If they got the right volunteers they might do it, but for that to happen you'd need a couple people fluent in both Icelandic and English to show up on the incubator.
