"Chaque" is an adjective. It needs to modify a noun.

"Chacun(e)" is a pronoun. It can be on its own or part of a noun phrase.

chaque jour - each/every day
chacun le dit - everyone says so
chacun des joueurs - each/any one/all of the players

Chacun est un pronom (everybody or everyone) et chaque est un adjectif (each, every). ex. Ils sont quatre enfants et chacun a sa chambre. Dans chaque chambre il y a un lit, une armoire et un bureau.

I don't know if you will agree but I am a Canadian French native speaker. 'Chaque' means 'each' but 'chacun' doesn't REALLY mean 'everyone'. You can translate like that but for real, 'everyone' in French would be 'tout le monde'. In my opinion, 'Chacun' could be translated as 'each one'. It's a bit hard to explain but I hope that you can understand.
