"The bananas are cooked"

Translation:Ndizi zinapikwa

August 27, 2018

This should probably be 'the bananas are being cooked'. Saying 'the bananas are cooked' generally refers to the past, 'the bananas have been cooked', 'ndizi zimepikwa'.

'The bananas are cooked' would, however, refer to the present with some qualifying information afterwards, for example if you wanted to show somebody how bananas are generally cooked in a certain place, you could say 'the bananas are cooked like this'.

I'd say it should definitely accept both since the English is ambiguous and lacking any surrounding context is what this course does best.
