"Terima kasih, selamat tinggal."
What is the difference between "Selamat tinggal" , "Selamat jalan" and "Sampai jumpa"?
(not so) direct translation:
"Selamat Tinggal" => "Good bye"
"Selamat Jalan" => "Have a safe trip"
"Sampai Jumpa" => "See You (next time)"
Selamat tinggal: you are leaving. Selamat jalan: someone is leaving you.
Selamat tinggal feels like you won't meet that person anymore in the future. When leaving, better say : "Sampai jumpa" in formal and informal situation.
Even more informal:
"Pergi, ya" -> literal translation: (I am) going, ok/yes. You can use it when you're leaving the house and informing your housemate.
"Dadah / Dah" -> Bye, very casual
Could any explain why terimah kashi is Thank you. So in this case it should be thank you, bye. But the computer said NO. Have I misunderstood.
