I'm just loving French
I remember the first time I learnt the first word in French 'Bonjour', I thought it's going to be difficult but I had an insatiable desire to learn so I kept going. Now I try to read articles in french(Though it seems difficult, it is helping me in building vocabulary). Recently, I started listening to songs and ted talks in french and watching french movies. This helped me in improving my listening and speaking skills(Although I can't properly say words that contain 'R' ). Whenever I feel like giving up, I recall this quote 'If you're going through hell, Keep going'.
Hi! How are you? I am Brazilian and I am learning French too. I am loving it too! For us (Portuguese speakers) it's pretty easy to pronouce the French "R". A tip for you about it is tha the sound of "R" in French words is almost the same of the English "H" when it is the first letter of the words. For example, When you say the word "français" it is like saying "fhorse" (F+HORSE). The same sound.
C'est vrai, it does sound like the hor- in horse. I had never thought of it that way.
Nice quote, here's another quote I admire so much.
"Be not afraid of growing slowly, be only afraid of standing still"
Bass , this is a good one.. i like your quote, here is one for you! Slow and steady wins the race!!
Have you recently started learning French? I can relate. 3 years ago when I started in my freshman year of high school, I wasn't really into French. It wasn't till I learnt more about French that I loved learning it. I watched YouTube videos in French, French YouTubers, read articles of French grammar or just entirely in French, I decided to study more harder things in French. The teacher assigned certain pages to read, but I decided to also study more than he requested. Honestly, I'm happy to know you are enjoying it, seeing how there isn't really anyone in my AP French class that into French as I am.
Hi,bonjour..I really like your quote.. Thank you for sharing this!!
Nice quote, never heard it before. Good luck, by make sure you go trough heaven :)
oui...sometimes it is like that..the main thing is to stay focused on the direction that you are going..and ignore the rest.eventually if you stay course you WILL make it to heaven..:-))
great quote and great attitude..
I love French too! Glad to see so many people along with me learning this amazing language
I am attempting to review the French I learned in high school. Best of luck!
"R" is one of the difficulties when you study French. These other sounds are difficult too : en, an, in, ien,... It is a way to study these sounds. for th "R" : https://www.ila-france.fr/blog/apprendre-prononciation-r-francais
I appreciate your optimistic attitude. May you learn without boundries.
I too am learning French and really enjoy working on it every day. My pronunciation is horrible so I appreciate the tips that other DuoLingo learners offer. Seeing that you are reading articles in French gives me hope that I will be able to do so soon!
Very inspirational words. Similar quote "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going" Good luck. I also started French years before but not followed through. Now I find duolingo, I am encouraged to jump start this developing my French in a better way.
Indeed, I like French as well. It could be struggling from time to time, just keep clam and carry on.

That's nice to hear! I find French difficult most of the time, but now all i have to do is think about your quote. Let get through this together!
well said, Rebecca ! Cela bien dit! :-) Remember ,that at all times we are never alone, there are other learners like us and we can encourage each other!
I think the genuine love for foreign language is enough to drive you to the new heights.
I know how you feel—even though it's hard sometimes, you just can't get enough of the language you love! :)

I loved French when I was a child, the first word I know is "caca" - in a fun story for teen :)). Ah and I always said bonjour to my dog but I didn't know how to write it... For a long long time I did not touch French, so now it makes me love again :D
Bonjour, Colette..
