Does anyone think we should have more choices in the shop for what to do with lingots?
What I am thinking is that maybe in the shop there could be owl eggs of different colors and the more owl eggs you by the more owls of that color on the egg you get. That would be cool. Or what if they made a language minigame and every time you play you spend one lingot. i would like it if they did that. If you have any other Ideas I should add please feel free to add them in the comments below. I will read them. I know this is not French related but i just wanted more people to see my post. I also posted this in Duolingo Forum. New suggestion from chloetahlia, who said it might be good for Duolingo to make bonus stories which you could buy with lingots.
Yes, really. It is a good idea to do a search before creating a new discussion ;-)
Maybe you could buy more stories in French. That could be an option. Or even to personalise your account with different colours.
I agree that is a good idea but I found a way to get different colors already
These are all great ideas and would definitely give us more options for things to do with our Lingots, but I just think it would all get a bit confusing and a bit too much. I would simply prefer it if Duolingo scrapped the Lingot system altogether. I just think it doesn't really work.
On top of that, the way things are at the moment the only thing to spend Lingots on after purchasing additional lessons and Timed Practices (besides donating to good comments) is Streak Freeze. When you have so many Lingots (I have 1793) you get quite frustrated that you have nothing to spend them on, so it is almost as if Duolingo is encouraging you not to practice - which is just about the worst possible way of motivating learners.
I don't mean to sound harsh (even though I have), but this is just my opinion.
I can see how you feel. Maybe u r right, but while I see your point of view I also see mine. I respect that you shared your opinion
Also if you want to get rid of your lingots keep giving lingots to others who want them
Hi, this is the French forum, for getting help with French grammar, vocabulary, resources, etc. Could you please edit your original post and use the drop-down list at top left to change the topic from "French " to "Troubleshooting"? That way it won't clutter up the French forum, and your discussion will be seen by folks interested in discussing ways in which Duolingo could be improved.
