konkuri vs konkurenci

they both seem to mean 'to compete' so what is the difference?

Dumb question number 1: Are these words in the course? I just checked and I don't think so.

Dumb question number 2: Did you check PIV?

konkuri is "to compete" in the general sense. To compete over a job, a position, for a title. That sort of thing.

konkurenci is the verb form of konkurenco, which is commercial, industrial, or business competition.
