is there a difference between menerima and mendapat?

Dapat/mendapat/mendapatkan = to get

Menerima = to receive

Is menerima used exactly the same as mendapat?

It's quit difficult to hear difference between " ... surat ini" and " ... surat Tini". Luckily both seems to be accepted on thid listening exercise. :)

He/She receives a letter from Tini. This is also right!

Wouldn't "He/she accepts Tini's letter" also be correct?

I don't think so. Receiving is one thing, accepting is another, it is the reaction.

Can't we translate it this way too? " She/he accepted Tini's letter "
