the english sentence here is ambiguous. does it mean:

usually, tini goes home last; ie tini is the last [of many other people] to leave.

or

usually, tini goes home very late/ late in the evening [time].

the best understanding i can gather so far of 'paling malam' would indicate the night time hours. but hopefully a native speaker can clarify here?

Yes, it's this one.
very late, late in the evening, late at night.

usually, tini goes home last; ie tini is the last [of many other people] to leave.

That would be something like this :
"Biasanya, Tini pulang paling akhir".
"Biasanya, Tini pulang terakhir."

"akhir" = "end"
paling akhir = terakhir = the last (superlative).

So this sentence can be used even if all the colleagues of Tini go home at the same time as her or even if she's the first to leave as long as the time she leaves is 2 a.m. or something?

it's so good to see so many updates to the translations have been made already in this beta version.

however, i really feel this sentence should not be removed. 'most late' is not natural english and is highly ambiguous. it is not even an odd literal translation of the target indonesian sentence.
