Suggestion: THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE DISCUSSIONS

I have always found it difficult to find how to insert a screenshot or how to make text bold. It is a really a big problem to find this information, it takes a huge amount on time I could spend learning. I suggest that when you want to post a discussion there could be a little note (question mark) at the bottom and when you click on it you could open a window and all the functions of the discussion would be there!

Because when I go to FAQ there is no such a summary of things which actually work and it is written there that some may and may not work. But until this suggestion is not on the website yet and you want to know all the functions you can go here. My suggestion could look something like this: :) Who likes the idea, please upvote it, so that people from Duolingo would notice it :)

Italics: Put an asterisk (that star thing on the 8 key) before and after what you want to make italic. hello there (with asterisks, If I put them in, it will automatically turn italic when I post this) will make hello there.

Bold: Same as above, only two asterisks. hello there

Bold italics: Same, only three asterisks. hello there.

To indent something, put an arrow (>) before it.

hello

To indent twice, two arrows (>>).

hello

And so on. :)

Here's how you change font size:

Single hash (#) before text

Double hashes (##) before text

Triple hashes (###) before text

And so on...

We use Markdown on our discussion forums, so you can use references such as this one.

But it would be much simpler if we could get this information right from Duolingo, don't you think?

there needs to be a toolbar in the text area for the most common functions, like drive.google and other similar sites. I would of guessed that italics would of been done like I just typed, to the left!
