So, when we want to decide which possessive post particle to use, we take on the gender of the object of possession, not the possessor, yes?
I reply with "He is Neha's son".. and it's correct. Though "This " and "It" were the first words to come in to my mind. But I agree with Anand_R, that 'it' points to a thing not a person.
