Father takes grandmother to the clinic for treatment sounds better imho

I would have thought "Father brings grandmother to get treatment at the clinic." is what we would normally say in English. Alternatively "Father brings grandmother to the clinic for treatment."

I have used the translation "Bapak membawa nenek berobat ke klinik.", and I have submitted a report to be added.

Selamat belajar! :)

Why is membawakan wrong to use in this sentence? He’s doing the action for the benefit of someone else

Good question. I believe "me-kan" verb in this sentence can be interpreted as a causative action (i.e. grandmother was not so sick that she could go to the clinic herself. Father merely gave her an advice to go there). But in this original sentence, father is the one who brought her to the clinic. Therefore, I think "membawa" (or membawai to omit "ke") would be better.

"Ayah membawa nenek berobat ke kliniknya" is it also acceptable if the clinic has been specified/mentioned before?

These are better alternatives. Either:

Father brings grandmother to get treatment at the clinic.

Or;

Father brings grandmother to the clinic to get treatment.
