Even though this is the correct translation of the Indonesian phrase. It is not unnatural in english. "Dozens" is the measure used for less than a hundred. "millions, thousands, hundreds, dozens"
You are correct that we would not use 'tens', but Indonesians would; so it makes sense for us to learn the actual translation. I checked this with my wife and she said that they would not use 'dozens of times' as an expression.
