Any good french tv shows or cartoons?
Do you know any good french tv show, cartoons or movies? It's a good help to stay motivated when there's content to get exited for ^^
Great question and deserves its own thread!!
I just watched a French show on Netflix called "Call My Agent" ("Dix Pour Cent" in French) and it was a really fun drama/comedy. I watched it in French with English subtitles. It really helps to get the "real" language flowing into you. Warning: it's a bit discouraging when you realize how far you have to go.... On the other hand, by the end of binge-watching two full seasons of the show, I was picking things up a little bit better. So it's definitely a fun way to augment the grind of studying.
There is a French anime called Code Lyoko, which was what I watched in my childhood. The story is very interesting and I love the characters. I also agree that The Adventures of Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir is also very good. I started watching it recently (not in French, but I should) and it's incredibly hilarious and gives me Shugo Chara! vibes, if you know what that show it.
Netflix is great for that, I recently watched La Mante which is a police drama, also saw one called the witnesses which was good
There's this really good show made for middle-school/high-school French learners called extra. If you like the show Friends you will like this show.
A good comedy that's not too hard to follow language wise is "La Chevre". It's about a man named Pierre who is a walking disaster, so he is hired by the police to find a missing girl who was also reported to be a walking disaster. It takes one to find one :) A cartoon I was able to practice with was "Bouba", and it's on YouTube. It's about a bear in an American forest who befriends a Native American boy and his friend, a European girl settling into the area. It's a cute one. I've been able to find some anime dubbed in French, including "Candy Candy" and "Pandora Hearts". It's amazing what's on google haha. Happy hunting, hope you find something good!
Ok, may I start with the fact that I can only say (with knowing what I'm talking about anyway...) that most Netflix originals are translated into languages like german, and possibly french, I'd look into it if you already have Netflix...
I second this, in the cartoon, Tintin is voiced by a Parisian so he is very understandable
MIRACULOUS LADYBUG - I am watching it right now XD and it is such a great show and one of the reasons that I got inspired to learn french (wanted to learn before, this show just inspired me lol
Miraculous Ladybug is great. The characters are so relatable and it's just a super cute tv show
"Le bureau des légendes" is a very good French series about the DGSE (the French CIA). Highly recommended! There are already 3 seasons available.
"Dix pour cent" is also a very good series, as already mentioned by another user.
"Un village français" is a series about a French village during World War II. Very interesting, especially if you're a history buff. There are at least 6 seasons to my knowledge.
"Les revenants" is a about a French village in the Alps where some people mysteriously return years after dying, not remembering anything about their death.
And here are a few cult French comedies : Le père Noël est une ordure, La cité de la peur, Les bronzés, La grande vadrouille, Les aventures de Rabbi Jacob...
