Advice learning dutch
I just moved in Belgium, and I need to learn dutch as soon as possible. Do you have any advice for me, like I should have classes or Duo is good enough? Or maybe you know some easy way to learn this language?
Any advice is well received.
Hoi Geanita, I am very far from fluent now, (level 25 Dutch for English speaker, level 15 Engelse voor Nederlandse Spreken) I would say duolingo alone is fantastic for vocabulary, conjunction, tenses, etc.. but nothing compares to having a teacher. If I was living in NL/BE I would deffinatly use duolingo alongside structured lessons if possible. Good luck, it's a crazy and fun language!
Take classes. It's often the best way to learn a language. And try to find yourself a social circle of native speakers (or at least including some).
Thanks for answering. It will not be hard as I am working in a dutch company, and 99% are Flemish.
I don' think there is an easy way to learn a language fast. If you can find a class, do it. And surround yourself with Belgians. Duolingo is a good way to learn some basics and to motivate you to exercise daily
An easy way to learn Dutch... Nah, don't think so. Dutch is just difficult. I'm a native Dutch speaker and I often hear other native speakers make mistakes.
I would not say Duolingo is enough to really learn any language. It's a good start but once you know enough words you can start reading children books or watch simple TV series. You can start with things like Nijntje pretty fast and then slowly continue with more difficult books as your vocabulary grows.
