I finished the tree a few times (before the crown method started) and am at level 17. Going to give it a go.

The courses are always available for audit, no matter what time of the year. I saw that in this specific course there is no certificate attached to it. It doesn't look like you have to turn in assignments either, so I think that when you begin the course is irrelevant. I still think it's a great way to level up though!
