Vår or Vårt?
Can anyone please explain to me the right time to use vår instead of vårt. Is there an easy rule to remember this?
If the noun has masculin/feminin/communal gender you use "vår". Has it neutral gender, you use "vårt".
Depends on the word but I am using Mitt/Ditt/Vårt when I see 't' as the word's last letter.
For Example : 'huset mitt/ditt/vårt'
That makes sense, because neutral gender nouns, when definitive, end in t, and you'd want to use Mitt/ditt/vårt for neutral nouns, correct?
I have vårt marked down as possessive adjective for neuter - barnett vårt (our child) / vårt barn
In sentence Barnet vårt ble borte. - Our child is missing
vår is for female and masculine våre is for plural
There is grammar tip when you click on the skill. Has great examples.
Not an easy rule, but a simple memory trick I would suggest: våren vår / været vårt
You must use vår with a singular masculine or feminine noun. Vårt must be used with a singular neuter noun. You must use våre with all plural nouns, whether masculine, feminine or neuter. I guess I don't really have any easy tips to remember this, except that the -t in vårt is a good way to remember that it's used for neuter nouns. 'Neuter' -> et -> t
