How big is this language?

Are we talking hundreds of word and phrases or thousands? Does it go beyond just the TV show?

Just started High Valyrian, and see that it has 33 skills and 122 lessons, the first two of which I just completed. Also, there are 706 lexemes...

So far so good. Will there be enough to have actual conversations with fellow speakers of High Valyrian, once I have completed the course? I think it starts out well, with useful info for the most part. Not crazy about "All men must die" though, right in the first few lessons... Kind of hard to work that into a conversation.

I think there is no course for Elvish on Duolingo, but maybe somewhere else in the internet...?

It's pretty small and from what I've seen the phrases are mostly limited to fantasy, so even if you do complete it, you may feel restricted when trying to talk about everyday life. IIRC the author has an entire dictionary and phrases, but due to copyright he cannot publish it until HBO allows him to, if ever.

I've also heard that the amount of High Valyrian in the TV show is extremely lacking. In comparison, there is more Dothraki dialogue. Shame that Dothraki isn't on Duo.

HV has something around 100 words. Compared to Dothraki it is relatively small with Dothraki having around 1000 words I heard. But HV has still more words than there are used in the TV show. You can actually communicate with this language so thats nice. But with only 100 words it happens quite often that you need a word that HV is missing, so for every day speech its hard to get along with just HV. And also its an old language kinda like Latin, so you wont find any modern words in there.

Overall, HV has around 950 (official) words, although maybe only 100 of them are in the Duolingo course. It is of course possible to make many more using known affixes etc. though
