daltaí na gaeilge nov 9-11, 2018 irish language immersion near philly - anyone going, or near there?

i'm about to be traveling on the east coast, and just found out about & signed up for the daltaí weekend immersion course happening in jamison, pa. so stoked i'll get to go! i live in alaska, and so have been learning completely online, with skype being my best chance for actually 'speaking' with people as gaeilge. anyone else learning/speaking irish in that area who's going? or who'd be interested in chatting? i'll be spending a good bit of time in central virginia, too. would love to find other people to déan comhrá liom.

i hadn't thought of it much before, because my upbringing wasn't really Blatantly 'irish-american' (we were eagles fans, were catholic, but), but now that i'm heading back to the east coast and am keeping an eye out for irish-language stuff that i can check out while i'm over there, things are popping out of the woodwork. my grandfather lives in havertown (where my mom grew up) and that's apparently one of the most heavily irish parts of philly? and there's all kinds of irish culture stuff in the area. pretty awesome. i haven't lived in pennsylvania since i was eleven, though, and we moved out to a really rural area, so i was kind of blind to that stuff as a kid. kind of makes me wish i lived in that area still so i could go to all these events and enjoy the blas & the craic.

There'll be between 60 and 90 people there, from Virginia to New Hampshire and Ohio, from beginners to cainteoraí líofa, with classes at 4 or 5 grades (3 on Saturday, one on Sunday), and workshops on singing, tin whistle, bodhrán and Irish dancing, and one or two lectures, and a Céilí on Saturday night. People will talk to you in Irish, but you won't be left out if you only have a cúpla focal.

Accommodation is in cabins - the site is used for summer-camps during the summer, and the meals are basic cafeteria fare, but you're not going for the cuisine!

it appears to be. if you go to their main events page at daltai.com they do similar things in other states as well, as far west as missouri and indiana (mentioning that since your name suggests michigan). i've also seen similar things listed for wisconsin - there's a big irish culture weekend (including language stuff) there each... october, i think?
