My first owl!

Just a minute ago, I finally finished my Japanese tree.

...I still have a lot to do, though! Now I need to work on making it golden. Plus, I kind of rushed through the end so I could feel accomplished on finally having an owl, especially for the achievement...

Well, that being said, I'm pretty impressed. Duolingo's Japanese tree was better than I expected going in to it, and with the addition of being able to see the explanations behind grammar on Duome, that really helped a lot. Even though the goal isn't to obtain fluency using only Duolingo, I feel like my grammar has improved little by little using this website.

Good luck, everyone! Ganbatte kudasai!

Domo arigatou gozaimasu!

Would be far better if the course regularly used kanji. But yes, it's a good start.

i use a different app for Kanji (its a dictionary app, its simply called 'Japanese') but there is a Japanese to English course here that has a looot more Kanji in it.

Can you provide the link to the app, I would like to look into it. I am interested in the Japanese to English course that app has.

I don't know how to link it, but it's for smart phone devices. The app is simply called "Japanese", it has a red icon and in white it has the kanji for "nihongo".

You can also set your language of choice to Japanese and then "learn English" while the site is in Japanese. That's the "reverse tree." I also finished the Japanese tree and am working on making it golden, but it's interesting to see the "real" Japanese when you're working on the reverse tree. There's WAY more kanji and lots of synonyms for terms we learned in the Japanese tree.

Mostly duolingo for making this course, but also you guys! There were a few times I felt like I wasn't doing well or it wasn't worth it, but a lot of people are very supportive here and helped me stick through it.
