Something about "The lunch finished five minutes ago" sounds funny. I think it should be "The lunch ended five minutes ago."
They both seem OK, although on reflection, the first sounds like the lunch was doing the finishing.
Sentença correta em Português: "O almoço terminou cinco minutos atrás."
A frase correcta em Português: "O almoço terminou há cinco minutos."
If the sentence was going to be "the lunch ended 5 minutes late" would the adjective be "tarde"? Obrigada
O almoço terminou cinco minutos atrasado. If it helps to understand, "It is late" = "Está tarde", but "He is late" = "Ele está atrasado". Just like Il est tard and Il est retard in French.
