I still get 'type what you hear' and then silence. Please fix it. It's very inconvenient.

I get the exact same thing and also it only works some of the time when I click to hear a sentence even if it's not 'type what you hear'

does it also happen to you in the app?
as far as i can tell, the web version "type what you hear" doesn't work, but the app version of those exercises works pretty well...

It happens on both unfortunately and is particularly bad for the test out function - which for higher crown levels can only be done on the web. :-( It wastes so much time and is why my usage of Duolingo has plummeted over the last couple of months.

I am doing the Esperanto Course for Spanish Speakers and this happens every lesson. Only about 1/5 audio files seem to actually play. Could this be fixed please?

Interestingly, this is also a problem in the Esperanto course for Portuguese speakers.

This has been going on for pushing two months now.

Please help spread the word that when there is no sound, this is a Duolingo issue. There is nothing that the forum participants or even the Esperanto course team can do about it. Support supposedly knows, but it may be helpful for learners to continue to file bug reports so that they know it continues to be an issue and that people care about this.

To file a bug report, go to support.duolingo.com

To hear Esperanto go to Esperanto Variety Show on YouTube.

Fill out a bug report and you might get a letter like this one.

Hi [Ben],

Thank you for contacting Duolingo Plus support! My name is [Name]

I'm so sorry you are experiencing this problem. Our team is aware of this and is working diligently to fix it as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, I suggest turning listening exercises off in your Duolingo Settings page.

Thank you for your patience in getting this problem resolved. Have a great day!

Have you opened a ticket yourself, and do you know of its status?

In your settings, take off the sounds during your esperanto lessons. And listen to Esperanto from other sources.
