'Mum' is a little colloquial, but you could report it anyway.
It accepts "mom", so I guess "mum" should work too.

Why the sentence doesnt use the formal and more polite way to refer to a mom? Like "mere" e "rahe". Wouldnt the example be a rude way for someone to refer to its own mom?
