Probably you're not that far in the course yet, but maybe the Tips & Notes from the later skill ''Demo'' (Demonstratives) will already help you: https://www.duolingo.com/skill/cs/Demonstratives/tips-and-notes

This = Ten/Ta/To These = Ti(alive) or Ty(not alive)/Ty/Ta That = Tenhle/Tahle/Tohle Those = Tihle(alive) or Tyhle(not alive)/Tyhle/Tahle

The sentence should be accepted as: "Tihle kluci nejsou noví"

No, you have it wrong. When used attributatively:

this - tento, tenhle, tenhleten

that - ten, tamten, tamhleten

plural:

these - tito, tihle, tihleti

those - ti, tamti, tamhleti

boy= chlapec. Proč Duo uznává jen "kluk"?

Chlapec, hoch a kluk jsou vzdy uznavani zaroven. A pri problemu je vzdy treba reportovat celou vetu.

What is the difference between hosi, kluci, and chlapec? This sentence did not accept hosi here.

You must always report the complete sentence. There is no point arguing about a single word. See https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/27749621/So-many-different-ways-of-saying-things-hoch-kluk-chlapec
