From what I found out on Reddit, Eid is the short form of (E)idul fitri, aka as "Hari Raya". I'm from Singapore and I've only heard "Hari Raya" all my life but maybe that's just because I'm Chinese
Indonesia is the largest muslim country in the world, yes and one should respect that. But they have the law of pancasila, freedom of religion. So from my point they should be respected as well. So teaching religious greetings in the beginning is wrong. A balinese Hindhu or christian Batak from Danau Toba won" t be happy to be greeted with a muslim greeting,!!!!
