Chinese Stories 6 - Second Language (第二语言)
If you find yourself loosing motivation on your language learning journey, I present you this witty story on the value of speaking a second language. This story introduced me to 性 (Xìng) which is apparently added after a word to express "-ility" or"-ness" like turning possible to possibility or hard to hardness. It’s also used to add "-ic" or “-ce” like turning history to historic and, as seen in this story, important “重要“ to importance “重要性”. you can get more info from the link below. Mother mouse barked fiercely, "Woof, woof, woof!" The cat was so terrified that it ran for its life.
Mother mouse turned to her babies and said, "Now, do you understand the value of a second language?"
