I never thought that one can learn a language by listening to rap for I have difficulty even understanding those in my mother tongue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr-6wwt8RXk (though I really love them).
However, I find Israeli rap easy to follow. Here's one example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d58Mu8Hp44o and my not so literal translation.
Hope by Subliminal
I saw they go out / Too many never to return / Friends torn apart / Homes shred to pieces / Families drenched in tears / Buds of flowers / Never blossomed life / Hope in our eyes / Love in our soul / Dreams of our spirit / So we will carry on / Forever along our way
Silence died out / Again the sound of war / Again a soldier came home / Or will he ever? Now wrapped in the nation’s flag / A land soaked with blood and with tears / Again a devastated mother left with nothing / But an image in frame hanging on the wall / Lock, lock in the heart, the hope / A strong people will not give in / ‘Cause never was a man that can stop Israel / That S@B, he has never been born!
Give me the hope / To bring in what has never been / Give me the strength / To change what has always been
C’mon keeping on / Life is before us / Never too late / Tomorrow, a new day / Dream will die if we lose the hope / So reach out / To love
A dove, you promised / A vulture, hovering in the sky / My brother, when the branch is adorned with thorns / Even olive leaves cannot soften the poisonous spikes / Living in a dream / Everyone is talking about peace / But they will shoot / Push and press / Their fingers are never off the trigger / In a world where everyone is their fair game / The gullible still preaching and preaching / Living in the illusion of righteousness / Driving a wedge deep down the crack that fractures the nation
Get over madness upon madness day by day just to survive / Don’t want to live to fight / Instead, fight to live / Plant hope, let it take root / With my flesh I will defend the dream / Never again shall it shatter and break / Enough, enough with the pain / Enough with the drama / What is the point for a year / When the land is bleeding out and no one can rest /
Give me the hope / To bring in what has never been / Give me the courage / To try to fix the world /
G-d, give me the hope / To bring in what has never been / Give me the strength / To change what has always been / Give me the courage / To try to fix the world /
I listen to a lot of Israeli rap (and I'm not a rap fan generally) but I think it's easier of you use the acoustic version of songs - rap or otherwise. (And lyricstranslate or Hebrewsongs for the translation and transliteration.).
