Has anyone got to Level 25 in Navajo yet?
Title says it all. I'm just curious
It's theoretically possible, but no sane human being would do it with the tree as short as it is right now. Level 25 requires 30,000xp and getting to Level 5 in every skill currently only requires 3,360xp. Which means you'd have to Practice the same ten skills at least 2,664 times to get to Level 25. Why you'd do that when you could get to Level 23 or so in a completely different language while waiting for new Navajo content is beyond me.
They'd be carrying you away in a straitjacket while you mumbled about telling your Mom you were going to Shiprock.
I feel I could do each skill 2664 times and still not remember "my maternal grandmother has five dollars".
Agreed! As a learner, one quickly gets to a level where no new information is presented.
As a beta tester, I am discovering more errors in the upper skills - so I plan to finish all the lessons... which probably happens somewhere around level 11. I've gotten a few emails from Duolingo recently indicating that they've corrected some of my reported errors - so I feel this productive.
BTW - My mom told me I have gone to Shiprock!
I finished the Navajo course with a golden tree today, and I was only at level 11 when I got there. To be honest, I don't feel like I got much out of it. Navajo is one of the hardest languages and it only took me a couple of weeks to do the whole thing. By comparison, Esperanto is one of the easiest languages. I've been working on that course for about a year, and won't finish for another 6 months or so, but I do expect to be reasonably fluent by the time I finish.
