1000 days streak!
1381
Yeeees! 1000 days today. OK, with a little help of a few freezes but still!
At times I have thought about quitting today but no. As long as I feel that I am learning something and think it is enjoyable, I will keep on going!
EDIT: Strangely enough it says 999 here in the thread but promise you, it is 1000, it says so in the top banner!

Yes, on the 19 Jan. Or maybe it is on 29 Jan as I lost the streak after 10 days, internet trouble. Thank you for the lingots! Not sure what to do with them ... Would be nice to convert them to real currency.

I started Duo on 19 Jan 2015 and after 10 days I lost the streak. Since the 29 Jan 2015 I have kept it going.

Congratulations on your streak! Reading your comments, I note that your situation and mine are almost identical. Except for living in Spain...I envy you for that. My exposure comes from the one week a year I spend in Cuba, which drives me to do DuoLingo daily. Keep up you fantastic, daily effort! Tenga un día estupendo!

Muchas gracias! And you have an excellent streak yourself. Congratulations to that.

Spanish? Some but far from being fluent. I live in Spain so I have the possibility to practice. Problem ins that English works quite well here at Costa del Sol. And I am lazy ...

You got 5 lingots from me, and you deserve more ;) I'm on a 101 days streak, and I want to reach 1000 one day. I know how hard it is, and I respect you! Congratulations.

At the beginning I did a lot of hours daily. Now I am just doing a lesson or two a day, look at what some are writing about strange sentences for learning or laughing. I do Memrise as well.
Keep the streak as long as possible, it is a big motivator!

x.X.Spanish, I've seen you posting in the forums before. I was bitterly hurt when I lost my nearly 1,000-day streak due in part to a glitch. I applaud users like yourself who don't pay attention to streaks.

Oh, I am proud of my streak! But that is not why I use Duo, I want to learn. The streak is a carrot!
You have a nice one going again!

After 1000 days do you have the feeling that you learned a lot ? im thinking for 1000 days that i did i should of know more.
1381
That is actually a good question ... Har ingen aning, faktiskt. When I started, I did not think it would take me such a log time to finish the tree (570 days, if I remember it correctly). But honestly, in combination with Duo and all the other things I do, I thought I would have learnt faaaar more. :D

No way good enough! Reading is OK but speaking and listening is really bad. Grammar is the problem, I think. Know a lot of words but put them in right order ... BUT! I know that I know a lot more now than when I started and it is really funny when you come upon words and expressions that you remember learning here. So it is no waste of time.

Congratulations.
Is your English tree the one for Spanish speakers?
1381
Thank you! The English is for the reverse but I have not worked on that much as I felt that I am still picking up new things in EN-ES after they made the change.

The reverse tree helps a lot, and if you decide to learn another language after you conquer that tree and reverse tree you could strengthen both at once by taking one of these languages for speakers of the other, Spanish for Italian speakers for instance.
Also if you still need help with grammar I recommend Language Transfer:

For me, the "reverse' English (for Spanish speakers) is excellent. I spend a lot of time on the comments -- a great opportunity to see "real" Spanish in use with frequent discussions on "that's not how we say it in my country." Lots of fun!!

I tend to get stuck on the comments as well! :D I also use Memrise and how I miss the opportunity to ask or comment in the app!

@Elgatobandido Thank you! I will try to keep that in mind.
Thank you also for the link, have to check that out! Love getting hints and tips on how to improve.

Just keep on doing what you are doing now, you have a good streak so far. Just a little every day and time flies so fast it is scary!

No, creo que mi cumpleaños de Duolingo es en 19 Enero. Entonces tendré tres años de Duolingo.

Just a few minutes every day, some more minutes once in a while ... (Love the cats!)

the same thing happened to me at the 300 day mark... it will sort itself out though so don't worry.
