Learning the same language from two base languages

Hi everybody,

I have been learning French for some time, selecting English as my base language. I recently decided to try to learn French with Italian as base language (Italian is my native language), as the two have more in common grammar-wise, and that could make things easier.

What will happen if I select Italian as my base language and start the French course from there? Will my progress in "French from English" be lost? Will I be able to switch freely back and forth between the two?

Thanks to all who answer.

They are separate courses, so you will have separate progress levels for each. You will be able to go back and forth between them to level up each one separately.
