Duolingo Stories

Recently I started using duolingo to help my French and learn Dutch, because my family is from Holland originally. One thing I love about the French course is the Stories option. You can read stories to help learn French. For me, this has worked really well. They're also pretty fun to read. But the Dutch course doesn't have Stories. Does anyone know when the stories will be available for the Dutch course?

Yeah, the Stories are only available for Duolingo's most popular languages, I'm afraid. Don't expect Dutch ones anytime soon.

Is the problem that they (Duolingo staff) think there aren't enough resources to create Dutch stories, or is it because it's not their priority and they don't want to allocate the time and money?

Hello :-) Unfortunately, stories aren't available for the majority of languages, and I guess that it will stay that way, in particular for the "smaller" languages.

I guess that the creation of stories in a language -- with the audio, the little tests -- requires quite a lot of work, and therefore, Duolingo focuses on the "larger" languages to have many users that use these expensive features.

So, without really knowing it, I would guess that neither your Dutch nor my Norwegian will get their stories. ....
