Dutch Resources?

Hello, I'm learning Dutch. Since there are no stories or anything for Dutch in the Duolingo labs, I was wondering if there's any videos or sites or songs or movies or literally anything that you could suggest to help me learn more by listening. I haven't finished my Dutch tree (yet), but I want to find other resources for Dutch, such as Dutch entertainment etc. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything like that? If so please mention!

Dank je wel!

You are going to have so much fun ^__^ There is so much great stuff available in Dutch out there.

Some things to start you off:

Het Klokhuis - 15 minute documentaries for older children. Very entertaining, and with the odd song and sketch chucked in. All have Dutch subtitles.

Mini Disco - Songs for small children in many languages, Dutch included. The videos are straightforward but charming animations, the tunes are catchy, the singers are talented, the arrangements are refreshingly unfussy. The Dutch lyrics are usually found in the notes under the videos.

schooltv - Various programmes, for toddlers to 18 year olds. You’re able to search by age group. I’m not certain what proportion of programmes have Dutch subtitles but certainly some of them do.

NPO - Programmes for all ages - tend to have Dutch subtitles. Some programmes can’t be accessed if you’re outside the Netherlands and some I think you have to pay to view. But that still leaves an impressive range of stuff available.

Hallo! I am about to hit 6 weeks of learning Dutch and I personally am a bit spoiled with my options. It just depends on my mood. Of course, I do Dutch lessons on Duolingo every day, but I have a number of other resources outside of and including some I've seen listed already. I personally find that hearing people speak the language helps quite a bit.

Lots of kid's shows (Some Dutch, some not), no subtitles: (Something to mention is that the full series of Alfred J. Kwak & Boes Boes are on Youtube, but the site hasn't updated those afaik.)

Youtube Disney trailers and songs: has some nice Youtube videos

I also like watching Dutch channels such as Ponkers - he does a lot of parody songs and some have nice subtitles such as this: (not kid friendly)

BookBoxInc has a lot of Dutch content (they do various languages, I search 'Dutch' and it comes up with multiple stories with subs)

Dutch and Flemish friends recommended this series from their high school days. There are others such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc. Just fun parodies in Dutch. I quite like them, but my understanding isn't quite high enough yet. You can search MasterMovies on Youtube and find others easily.

I also frequent multiple Dutch Reddit subs just to get used to seeing the words frequently and learning new words here and there outside of that.

That's about all I can post for now without taking up the whole page, but hope these resources are helpful to you and others!
