Calling all Hebrew learners, speakers, and educators.
Duolingo offers a wide variety of ways to learn the language. I was just wondering if you have any additional resources to learn Hebrew.
I use Mango as well, but my Israeli partner has told me that it is very formal (no one says ha'adoni (sir), for example) and not really "natural". Find it helpful learning from two different directions.
I use the 'Duolingo Hebrew' course on memrise and Drops to practice vocab. Mango Languages also has a good Hebrew course, which focuses a bit more on conversational language.
Answering as another language learner - I find youtube vocabulary helpful (when they say the word once in English and then in the target language+ display spelling on screen). Haven't looked into something like that in Hebrew, but there are videos like that- I'm sure. Learning the Alef-Beit letter system would be the hardest. Watching the same short video about the letters daily might help getting it stuck in your head (because I hate memorizing things!).
Also, radio and TV - even if not understanding, just getting accustom to how it sounds (because it's very different than English).
