Different Courses in the same language on duolingo

Hello,

I have been doing duolingo French from English for more that 6 months now. I have a friend, who has just started the same course just this week. I noticed that his tree has got more than double the amount of Skills than mine. His account was started online on computer and mine was on the google play app, can some tell me why this is? is it possible for me to get the extra skills without loosing my progress? Is this because I have started mine on my phone? I would be very grateful if someone has an answer to this. HAPPY LEARNING!!!

Duolingo's staff have been making a mess of the so-called A/B tests in the course "French for English speakers".
Currently there are one stable version and two or three test versions.

I, after hearing that Duolingo had added new courses, created a new account. As soon as I created it, I saw a skill named Travel, that came earlier than in my old French Tree. I have the same question, and yet still have no answers.

Thank you for your reply Chevy... it is strange that they do not add them to your tree, so you can go back and redo all the new ones and not have to redo all the old ones as well.

Thanks. You have an impressive French Tree, one of my Goals for next year is to complete the French Course on Duolingo. I wish Duolingo did add the newer skills, as it could and probably would make a huge difference in our language skills.
