Song/movie recommendations for Korean/Japanese language learner.

Hi friends! I have found that listening to songs and watching movies in Japanese/Korean has really helped me understand more about the language and culture and it's one of the most enjoyable ways to learn a new language, right? Anyways, I know there are a lot of you guys who are taking Korean and Japanese so feel free to share your recommendations with your favorite movies or songs. I have been trying to find some good songs or animes to watch so I would love to know what you guys like to listen to or watch to learn your new language. <3

I recently watched ''My ID is Gantam beauty'' which is a Korean drama. You can watch each episode one time just for enjoyment and getting the plot and the second time you can analyze parts of speech and google important words ,etc

Korean: Youtube has KBS WORLD's archived tv shows on there. Any of them are helpful. My favorites included My Father is Strange, My Lovely Samsoon (not sure if that's the channel), and Blade Man.

Japanese: Anything by Studio Ghibli, any manga on a topic you enjoy. If you're into nonfiction, Cells at Work is cute and informative about cellular biology (with a dash of workplace romance thrown in - that dashing White Cell!) I tend to go for adventures with romance in.
Hope that helps.

Hi! I second "Cells at Work". It is not only educational with both the human body and learning the language of Japanese, but it also is a great story.

When I was in Japan in the early 90s, Dreams Come True had released the Swinging Star Album. Any time I listen to it, it brings back so many memories. Especially 涙とたたかってる. If I play it and close my eyes, it's almost like I'm back in Sapporo.

I endorse the drama series "Kizoku Tantei", or "The Noble Detective". It is very amusing. Many trivial and historical references. I have been beholding it with joy in the near past.

It's not what you asked for, but there's a Japanese reality TV series on Netflix called "Terrace House." I've found it extremely helpful in learning conversational Japanese. You can find it on YouTube as well if you don't have Netflix.

Wow! On Netflix? I'll definitely have to watch that next time I'm searching for something to watch on Netflix.

Someone a while back posted about Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo, a Japanese show about a Japanese teacher and her students. Most (all?) of the episodes are on youtube and it's pretty great for learning basic vocabulary and cultural things since a lot of the characters are also learners.
I also listen to a lot of characters songs from animes with lower age demographics. I particularly love the Prince of Tennis character songs (as well as anime and live musical) since it's a slice-of-life/sporty show and there are so many characters and songs there's a wide range of styles all with pretty simple and easy to understand lyrics.
