I have just completed DL's Spanish course and find it easy now to read bits of eg El Mundo. Completion took just 59 days starting with modest and ancient skills in French and Latin but no Spanish at all. I appreciate that continued exposure is a must to consolidate this new skill. I should be in Spain for a week in June and wanted to know a few words, tried DL and was totally sucked in. I am blown away with the efficiency of the DL system and the efforts of those who made it so. I am currently upgrading my German and I am planning to improve my French later. Time is a limit, also for retirees!

Thank you for your congrats. What is the reverse course? I am planning to keep doing Spanish exercises as time permits. Verbal fluency is still far away I am afraid. And keeping up with spoken Spanish is beyond me at present. We have limited Spanish programs on TV. Just occasional words make sense. DL is very good in presenting rapidly spoken Spanish, but reality seems faster still. And there is no slow button!

@JANBOEVINK, the reverse course is to learn English from Spanish. I started the reverse course a while ago. I haven't finished it because I'm feeling pretty burnt out right now. But, it presents some unique challenges, so I highly recommend it. :) Also, I recommend saying everything out loud, even when you're not prompted to.

Hi Usagiboy. That seems like a good idea. Getting an understanding for the reverse problems will definitely deepen language appreciation. My time will be at a premium till after Juli. I'll just have a couple of weeks to push my German along a bit further and try and keep up Spanish exercises falling due. DL has taken a lot of time I had allocated for other purposes but also turned waste time into effective time with the stimulation provided.
