En su lugar se usan expresiones como "that way", "this way" ("de esa manera", "de esta manera"), "like that", "like this" ("como eso", "como esto") y "That is how...", "That is the way..." ("Eso es como...", "Esa es la manera...")

That is how they are

2° (He/She/It) is like (that/this) / That is how it (is/goes)

That's how things (are/go) / That's the way things (are/go)

4° He was like (that/this)

5° He was never like (that/this) / He was never (that/this) way

La frase "así que" es una conjunción consecutiva (similar a "entonces", "luego"), en inglés se puede utilizar "so", "then".

1 ° This is how they are

2 It is like this

3 ° That's the way things are going, that's how things go

4 ° This was him

5 ° It was never like that

This is a translation from Google. As we can see there is no translation word by word. You have to study as expressions. These thing makes a little difficult for us to learn English. Even for Doulingo having the most exact translation to Spanish. Probably this occurs in other languages too. To speak English is necessary to think in English, without any translation in your mind, if you're not in this stage you are not fluent in this language you have to practice a lot in order all the patterns are strongly in your brain, it's not enough to understand ; well, that's my one cent opinion. Have you all a great and beautiful new year 2019...

Yes José, You're right, the students must think in English, without any translation word by word. They have to get the idea.
