Can you please check the pronounciation of 得? I always hear “de”, even when imho it should be “děi”: to have to.

I have also noticed this; the TTS programme doesn't seem to recognise 得 as dei3 at all, probably because this usage is quite informal.

No my friend, In fact, this usage is formal.

你得(děi)… = You Must... (here "dé" is wrong)

But on a rigorous occasion, we will say "你必须..."or“你应当…”
