Unofficial Language Courses List
Do you want to learn one of the following languages? If so, you're covered!
All of these are unofficial courses, which you can use until the languages come out as official courses on Duolingo.
If you come across any other Unofficial Courses, please let me know in the comments. It will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! AP4418
Thanks so much, David! I'm adding a whole lot more courses from that link.
Actually, for Finnish, the Slow Finnish course by Zzzzz... is much better than the one you're listing. It's here: https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/10579104/All-the-Slow-Finnish-lessons-in-one-place
Well, the current one teaches more than the previous one. :) I could add both, but the post will get very long, and a short post with much use, I think, is better.
Thanks for the suggestion though, it is workable.
Enjoy your day!
Brilliant! Thank you for putting this together. It's going into my "Followed" list.

There are more. The ones listed are all on Duolingo and there are lots of other sources out there.
:) I'm too young to be one yet: under 18. But thanks for the complement, though, Reese!
I thought it was 13+ not 18+. When you apply it says "you have to be at least 13 years old to apply."
Hi Aaron. Yes, that's true, but according to Usagiboy7, it has changed recently. That form probably just hasn't been updated yet. :)
Hmm, interesting, you inspired me to start an unofficial Filipino course. After several years I've finally mastered the accenting rules. But, nah, I often get downvotes.
(Btw, anyone who has FSL?)
Hi ArpsTnd, do you mean you did make a course, or that you are planning to make an unofficial course?
By the way, what is FSL? I searched it up, but all I get was some kind of Software Library. Is it a Sign Language? :)
Enjoy your day!
Ah yes, I'm planning to start another unofficial Filipino course, because the one you provided was years ago, and those times I don't even know Duolingo yet. So, a newer one.
FSL is the shortened term for our national sign language -- Filipino Sign Language, but for me it seems ambiguous because there are a lot of languages that begin with an "F". It could mean French SL, Finnish SL, atl, but what I mean is Filipino.
That's great! I'm looking forward to your Unofficial course. :) The link will be added to this post. :D
Ah, Filipino Sign Language, that makes sense!
Man, their are many FSLs! Very interesting! :D
Wow, so many Unofficial courses..... Hopefully all of those languages will become official duolingo courses!
Dessert-Rose, may I make a suggestion? Maybe sorting it alphabetically, or those that have the most lessons and/or directories and descending downward? Maybe alphabetical by language names or usernames?
Good idea! I'll do that soon. Don't currently have time. :D
EDIT: Done! They are organized alphabetically, and as there are now already 2 conlangs, there's also a separate section for the conlangs. :) Hope you like it!
Hi JJ and everyone else, the languages are now sorted alphabetically. :)
Thank you! Us users have to make do while we wait for the actual courses to be released.
(Yay! A third one!) JJ, are you planning to make a directory? That will make it easier to link to your course. :)
Yes, I am waiting. I just wanted to wait a little bit before creating it, seeing how I only posted the third lesson 45 minutes ago. I don't want to look "spam-ish". I'll be making one shortly.
Great! It's added to the list. :D The directory is so tidy, I just love it.
Thank you so much! I hope that all of the people who made these unofficial courses have applied to contribute to courses in the Incubator for these languages!
I won't declare my Unofficial Filipino Course yet, my time is not stable to provide posts. My exams are near, so maybe a lot of things would be on February.
You'll be added to the list once you feel stable. I would have added you ASAP, though. Tell me when you're ready. ;)
I don't know if this will be continued, but apparently, another person is trying to help with Persian, Dessert-Rose. I'm not saying you should add it as well (just to keep the post small), but just saying it might be worth putting up there if it continues. Here's the link.
Thank you Gwaugle! Once s/he creates a Directory I'll add her as well. I choose which courses are added to my post according to these "prerequisites":
- Most posts
- Tidiest post(s)/directory post
I'm not saying her's isn't tidy. I just told you
the rules I use!
;) Thanks for linking it though!
Happy to help! As I said, I know this post is already growing so much and you wanted it tidy. Just mentioning it in case it goes on. I told them that there was already a Persian course, but they could continue. Just a warning. Happy to find you've already found my post, and happy to help!
If there is a course for Nyoongar, an Australian language, or someone who could make an unofficial course, that would be great. Thanks for the list.
