They describe the same. When on a "Spaziergang" you do "spazieren". Think of the difference of "to be on a walk" and "to walk". "Der Spaziergang" is a noun. "Wir machen mit ihnen einen Spaziergang", "Ich bin auf einem langen Spaziergang". "Ich mag Spaziergänge"". All fine. The verb is used like: "wir spazieren" or more common "ich gehe spazieren". "Er spazierte durch den Park".

"Wir machen mit ihnen einen Spaziergang"

While "spazieren" is the verb (the act of doing it) "der Spaziergang" is the noun or, generally speaking, the thing itself. It is like a game (the thing) and playing ("doing" the game)

spazieren = Zeitwort

Das Spazieren = Hauptwort

Spaziergang = Hauptwort

I didn't know that a verb is Zeitword in German. But "das Verb" is also used.

Das Zeitwort is a rare term. I'd call it das Verb. Kids often say das Tuwort ("Do-word"). Another term is das Tätigkeitswort ("activity word")
